If you're like me you always make excuses not to work out. You think about the sweat and then you'll have to take a shower. You think about your gym clothes and then you'll have to do laundry. It's not easy to peel yourself off of the sofa after a long day of work or playing with the kids. Your main goal may be to become a couch potato for the rest of the night. Your energy level is a negative 0 and you've lost the will to get up. 
 
I know how you feel! The fact is that when we sit down our body automatically becomes accustom to feeling tired. Then we can't even think about working out. What if I told you, you can change that feeling. What if I told you all you have to do is turn on some music the instant you walk in the door. Change into your work out clothes and get going. If you can do this instead of walking in the door and throwing your clothes off. Turning on the TV and plopping on the couch; then you're good to go. Most of us make the excuse before we even step in the door. Suddenly there's a pain in your foot or your back is hurting. These are all ways you are making yourself shut down.
 
Without a steady plan you are bound to fall into self pity and result in unhealthy choices. Here is what you tell yourself everyday. I don't care if your in the grocery store or at a party with some friends. Tell yourself "I am worth getting healthy. I am worth making the right choices. I owe it to myself to be strong and healthy. I can control my cravings and my work out routine. I am a mature responsible woman/man." Once you actually believe what you are telling yourself you will change your ways. 
 
In the end we all want to become the best we can be. No one is happy carrying around extra weight that effects our health. We all want to be healthy and happy. This is also what we want for our family. If you are not going to do it for yourself. Realize that what you do affects the lives of the people around you. Maybe a little one that sees mommy or daddy making bad choices will end up doing the same. This is why working out and making good food choices don't only help you. They help your family and friends as well. 
 
Keep in mind you are not the only one who feels like you can't do it. All you can do is try and see what happens. Just tell yourself those five sentences everyday. Memorize them. Even make a note and stick it in your back pocket. Once you believe in yourself you will be on your way to feeling great about yourself and the choices you make. If I can do it so can you.


















10 simple tips to get you the body you want...
#1 Start by taking the stairs. Even if it's just one flight and you work your way up. It only takes about 5 minutes extra and you burn about 40 calories. Which can lead to about 500 extra calories per week.

#2 Laugh! Laughing can also help burn up to 40 calories and who doesn't like to laugh.

#3 Take the dog for a quick walk or just walk around the neighborhood for about 10 minutes each day. It's always good to take a moment for yourself and enjoy the outdoors.

#4 Instead of sitting on a back bending chair at the office try an exercise ball. This will not only help your posture, but it also works your stomach muscles and your gluts.

#5 Try adding 5-10lb dumbbells to your ball. While copying or sending a fax work in about 5 reps each time. You can burn up to 50 calories per rep.

 
#6  Daily chores. I know laundry isn't the funnest thing, but we feel so good when it's done. Vacuuming can burn up to 80 calories. Any house cleaning can burn up to 120 calories per half hour. Mopping you can burn a whopping 150 calories or more.

 
#7 Kissing. That's right. While smooching your loved one you can burn up to 30 calories or more. Also brushing your teeth can burn the about the same. So keep those pearly whites fresh and kiss away.

#8 Gardening can burn up to 150 calories and what better way to spend the day. Gardening has also been shown to help with stress and anxiety.

#9 Grocery shopping can burn up to 150 calories per half hour. Even walking around the mall can burn up to 200 calories or more and who doesn't like shopping.

#10 Dancing for even just 30 minutes will help burn about 200 calories per half hour. So get out on the dance floor and have some fun.


The main goal here is to stay active. Even just one of these actions can lead you to burn 1lb to 10lbs in just one month. I know it's not always easy to get off the couch, but just think what you will be doing for yourself. Why not turn loosing weight into to fun feel good activities that aren't only good for you, but relieves stress at the same time.

Once you achieve this in your daily routine you will start feeling better and looking better in just days. Don't give up! You will feel like giving up, but if you push threw and make this a part of your everyday life you will succeed! I believe in you! I know it sounds corny, but people need motivation. I need motivation. I still go out on the weekends and cheat every now & again, but the more you stick to this plan the more you will start to see the results you've been waiting for.
